Located in Sahiwal in Punjab province, Pakistan, the Sahiwal Coal-fired power plant is the first project completed under the China-Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC). After 22 months of construction, it officially began operation in 2017. Since then, it has become a major source of energy and employment in Pakistan, and is regarded as "a miracle in the history of power construction in Pakistan."
As 2023 marks the 10th anniversary of the Belt and Road Initiative as well as of CPEC, CGTN reporter Li Jingjing visited Pakistan and tried to find out the changes it has brought to the country.
