Asian Games: Wu Shutong wins marathon swimming title, Team China shine in dragon boat races

China's Wu Shutong claimed the gold medal in the women's marathon swimming at the 19th Asian Games on Friday.

The 18-year-old clocked 2:03:36.4 to finish the 10km swim in Chun'an Jieshou Sports Center Swimming Course in Jieshou Township, Chun'an County, near Hangzhou, in east China's Zhejiang Province.

Airi Ebina of Japan clinched the silver with a time of 2:03:44.9 and China's Sun Jiake took the bronze (2:03:57.9).

In the dragon boat 1km grand final, Team China took the women's gold and men's silver at Wenzhou Dragon Boat Center on Friday.

In the women's race, China led from start to finish to win the race, clocking 4:51.448.

The winning team included Steerer Fan Yiting, Drummer Li Zhixian and 12 paddlers, Wang Li, Shi Yingying, Cheng Lingzhi, Sun Yang, Yu Shimeng, Wang Ji, Shi Shuqi, Ding Sijie, Zhu Xiaoli, Luo Meng, Xue Lina, and Wang Ying.

Team Indonesia took the women's silver and Republic of Korea (ROK) finished with a bronze.

In the men's dragon boat race, Team Indonesia clinched the gold with a time of 4:31.135.

Indonesia ranked fifth in the first 250m, and then powered to the second place at the 500m and 750m marks and sprinted to the first place in the last 250m.

China led from the start to 750m but fell short to Indonesia's sprint in the last 250m.

China took the silver at 4:31.182 and Myanmar won the bronze at 4:32.959.
