Zhonglou Street, also known as Bell Tower Street, is one of the busiest commercial streets in Taiyuan, capital of northern China's Shanxi Province. Local officials say nearly 570,000 tourists came here during the Mid-Autumn Festival and National Day holiday, more than three times the number during the same period last year. Dating back a thousand years, the Zhongloujie pedestrian street is where the old meets new.
