2023 marks the 10th anniversary of the Belt and Road Initiative or BRI. Over the past decade, China has signed more than 200 cooperation ventures with over 150 countries and 32 international organizations under the BRI framework. Mushahid Hussain Sayed, the chairman of Pakistan's Senate Defence Committee, says high-quality development propelled by BRI is en route. Citing positive economic indicators in Pakistan, he says the BRI is about cooperation and mutual benefit. He says the U.S. criticizes the BRI on the one hand, yet it has begun its own copycat programs like the Program for Global Infrastructure. Sayed points to U.S. attempts at imitating the BRI as evidence of its success.
