China's express delivery industry handled more than 5.1 billion parcels during the Mid-Autumn Festival and National Day holiday, according to data released by the State Post Bureau on Saturday, mirroring the sustained recovery momentum of the country's courier services industry.
The eight-day holiday, which ran from September 29 to October 6, is the longest public holiday in the second half of the year in China. Family members also send special festival purchases to each other during this period.
Of the total, 2.575 billion parcels were collected during the period, according to the Bureau.
Daily volume of collected parcels during this period went up 8.6 percent compared with the National Day holiday last year.
The number of parcels delivered totaled 2.572 billion, and the daily volume of delivered parcels during the period expanded by 18.7 percent from the National Day holiday period in 2022.
