The death toll from Israeli airstrikes in Gaza has risen to 232, with 1,697 others injured, according to an update from the Palestinian Health Ministry in Gaza on Saturday.
The Israeli military was still engaged in fighting with Hamas in some parts of southern Israel as of 1:30 a.m. local time and the situation in the country was not totally under control, an Israeli army spokesperson said, as at least 300 Israelis were killed, according to the Jerusalem Post.
