2023 marks the 10th anniversary of the Belt and Road Initiative (BRI). CGTN starts a special program "Vision into Reality", inviting hosts and guests from China, Pakistan, Kenya, Greece and Argentina to talk about the results their countries have experienced under the framework of BRI, and what went on behind the scenes. Xie Tao, dean of the School of International Relations and Diplomacy at Beijing Foreign Studies University, told the story of how he witnessed the Accra port construction project in Ghana benefiting local economic development. Peter Kagwanja, president and chief executive of Africa Policy Institute, emphasized that the construction of the Standard Gauge Railway (SGR) allowed Africa to export goods to the Americas and Europe through the Indian Ocean. Without the BRI this dream would never come true.
