The Chinese Embassy in Afghanistan on October 10 handed over an emergency humanitarian cash assistance of $200,000 to the Afghan Red Crescent Society on behalf of the Red Cross Society of China to relieve the devastation caused by the earthquake in Herat province. Bao Xuhui, minister of the Chinese Embassy in Afghanistan, met with Zakir Ullah, interim acting director of the Third Political Department of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Afghanistan, and Shabeer Ahmad Usmani, director of the Afghan Red Crescent Society's finance department, to hand over the cash aid. Bao extended his deep condolences to the families of the victims and those injured people, saying the cash assistance reflects the friendly relationship of the Chinese people toward the Afghan people.
