Residents in the southern Israeli city of Ashkelon near the border with the Gaza Strip say they are feeling scared after their homes were hit by frequent rocket attacks launched by the Palestinian Islamic Resistance Movement (Hamas) on Monday. The city was caught in a cycle of deafening noises on Monday as Israel's Iron Dome defense system launched missiles to intercept rockets fired from inside the Gaza Strip. The attacks caused huge damage to residential areas, with buildings bearing the brunt of the blasts, vehicles left destroyed, and debris strewn across the streets, while shell-shocked civilians were forced to take cover.
