Editor's Note: Nepal is a landlocked country but thanks to China's Belt and Road Initiative and the future joint development of the Trans-Himalayan Multi-dimensional Connectivity Network, the country aspires to become a "land-linked." Bordering China's Xizang Autonomous Region to the north, Nepal is eager to strengthen its relations with China and benefit from China's development. In this edition of Leaders Talk, CMG's Li Tongtong sat down with Pushpa Kamal Dahal, also known as Prachanda, the Prime Minister of Nepal, on his visit to China where he attended the opening ceremony of the Hangzhou Asian Games and held talks with President Xi Jinping. He praises the CPC's achievements and commends President Xi on his vision and leadership. Prachanda wishes to capitalize on China's experience in agriculture and infrastructure building to bolster Nepal's economy, and says that more border crossings with China may open to facilitate trade and exchanges. He also rejects the "debt trap" narrative propagated by Western media as unfounded and biased.
