Wildfires in Argentina's Villa Carlos Paz have caused widespread destruction and prompted evacuations on October 10. A local man admitted to starting the fires by lighting a fire to heat water in a kettle and make coffee, but he lost control of the flames. The situation remains challenging, with continued firefighting operations, evacuations and apprehensions. Although some fires have been controlled, others continue to present substantial threats.
