Republicans have nominated U.S. House Majority Leader for speaker in a closed-door vote, but it's still unclear who will become the new speaker. Josef Gregory Mahoney, professor of Politics and International Relations at East China Normal University, says that Scalise's possibility of becoming the speaker of the House will depend on his willingness to make right deals with right groups including hardliners in the Republican Party.
