More than 2,000 years ago, Zhang Qian, an outstanding envoy and explorer of the Western Han Dynasty, opened up the ancient Silk Road and brought reliable information about the western regions to China. Various cultures met in what is now modern-day Xinjiang, the heart of the Silk Road.
2023 marks the 10th anniversary of the Belt and Road Initiative (BRI). Over the past decade, the BRI has connected more than 150 countries through pragmatic cooperation.
