The 134th China Import and Export Fair, also known as the Canton Fair, opened on Sunday in Guangzhou, the capital of South China's Guangdong province.
The event, which will run until November 4, has attracted exhibitors and buyers from across the globe. Over 100,000 buyers from more than 200 countries and regions have registered for the event, said Xu Bing, spokesperson for the fair.
The number of booths for export goods increased to 14,500, with over 2,500 brands participating; while for imports, exhibitors from the Belt and Road Initiative participating countries account for 60 percent of the 650 foreign companies, which are from 43 countries and regions.
Leading companies, including Fortune Global 500 companies, are participating, with attendance confirmed by 140 top multinational companies.
Linsy Furniture, participating in the Canton Fair for the second time, said the company plans to expand into the Southeast Asian market, with the aim of further growing into neighboring countries and regions, according to Foshan News.
Mansoor Kalhor, a buyer in the electric tools business from Iran, has come to the Canton Fair to seek new business partners. Accordingly, he expressed confidence in Chinese partnerships given China's advanced industrial professionalism.
