China is prepared to work with relevant parties to promote a ceasefire and peace talks between Israel and the Palestinian armed group Hamas, said Zhai Jun, Chinese special envoy on the Middle East issue, in an interview with CGTN's Zheng Chunying on October 14. Zhai said that the international community must urge the warring sides to abide by international humanitarian law.
