The ancient Silk Road used to be an important commercial route connecting Asia and Europe. Nowadays, the Silk Road is a route that's abundant in archaeological sites and ancient architecture. In 2014, Silk Roads: the Routes Network of Chang'an-Tianshan Corridor was listed as a UNESCO World Heritage Site to reflect the important role that the ancient Silk Road has played in promoting exchanges among different civilizations.
