Israeli Defence Minister Yoav Gallant said on Sunday that Israel has no interest in waging war on its northern front, and that if the Lebanese group Hezbollah
restrains itself, Israel would respect the situation along the border as it is today.

The situation on the Lebanese-Israeli border escalated after Hezbollah fired dozens of rockets toward the military sites in Shebaa Farms on Sunday morning.

Israeli forces responded with heavy artillery and targeted several areas in southeast Lebanon.
