The Israeli military will continue enabling Palestinian civilians fleeing the fighting in the Gaza Strip, assisting their relocation to the southern territories within the region," said a spokesperson for the Israel Defense Forces (IDF) on Sunday. He added that hundreds of thousands had already followed Israel's evacuation order.

IDF spokesperson Daniel Hagari stated during a briefing on Sunday that the Israeli military was prepared to operate "anywhere in the Middle East" amid the ongoing war in the Gaza Strip and frequent clashes on the Lebanon border with Hezbollah.

"We are always looking around us, in the entire Middle East," he said. "The IDF will operate anywhere in the Middle East to fulfill Israel's security aims. We are highly prepared in all arenas."

He reported that since the conflict broke out with Hamas on October 7, at least 279 Israeli soldiers had lost their lives. The number of confirmed Israeli hostages being held in Gaza stands at 126 for now.

Meanwhile, an evacuation is currently underway in the Israeli city of Sderot, located near Gaza, in anticipation of a possible ground operation in Gaza, according to Israeli media.
