The Israeli military said on Saturday its forces were preparing to implement a wide range of operational offensive plans as expectations of an imminent ground operation of the Gaza Strip grew.
The United States is sending a second aircraft carrier strike group to the eastern Mediterranean "to deter hostile actions against Israel or any efforts toward widening this war following Hamas' attack," Secretary of Defense Lloyd Austin said on Saturday.
The World Health Organization said on Saturday that forcing thousands of hospital patients to evacuate to already overflowing hospitals in the southern Gaza Strip could be "tantamount to a death sentence".
