Noting that commercial flights between China and Israel are still operating, China's Foreign Ministry on Monday suggested that Chinese nationals in Israel return to their home country as soon as possible.

Speaking at a daily press briefing, ministry spokesperson Mao Ning said China is carefully studying and evaluating the security situation in Palestine and Israel and closely following the opening of local air and land routes.

The spokesperson said China will do everything possible to assist Chinese citizens.

Four Chinese nationals were killed, two are missing and six others wounded since the conflict between Israel and Hamas began on October 7.
