This year marks the 10th anniversary of China's introduction of the concept of "a community with a shared future for mankind."

China has built communities of shared future with dozens of countries and regions, Chinese Foreign Minister Wang Yi said at a press conference on September 26. To build a global community of shared future is to pursue openness, inclusiveness, mutual benefit, equity and justice.

As the world's largest developing country and a member of the Global South, China has made every effort to aid other developing countries and help recipient countries expand their capacity for development, supporting their endeavors through the Global Development Initiative (GDI). More than 100 countries and international organizations have expressed support for the GDI, with over 70 countries participating in the Group of Friends of the Global Development Initiative established at the UN, Wang said.

For promoting global sustainable development and improving people's lives, China has made substantial contributions in infrastructure construction. A general framework comprising six corridors, six routes and multiple countries and ports is in place. The overall layout of land, sea, air and cyberspace connectivity continues to improve through projects such as China-Europe Railway Express, China-Laos Railway, China-Central Asia Gas Pipeline and Port of Piraeus in Greece.

China is committed to building an open world economy, according to the white paper titled "A Global Community of Shared Future: China's Proposals and Actions." It has become the main trading partner of more than 140 countries and regions, and signed 21 free trade agreements with 28 countries and regions.

For promoting high-quality opening up and trade, China has also pioneered major expos and fairs, exemplified by the China International Import Expo, China International Fair for Trade in Services, China Import and Export Fair, and China International Consumer Goods Expo.

As many as 91 percent of the respondents of a global online survey conducted by CGTN spoke highly of the proposal of building a global community of shared future, saying that "only when appropriate attention is paid to the collective future of humanity is it possible that the wishes of every country, people and individual come true."

In addition, 94.16 percent of the survey respondents said "opening up should be a two-way journey, not a one-way street; one cannot demand the opening of other countries while closing its own doors."
