The China Coast Guard (CCG) on Monday drove away several Japanese vessels which illegally entered the territorial waters of China's Diaoyu Island, and warned the Japanese side to stop all illegal activities in this area, a CCG spokesperson said in a statement on Tuesday.
The Diaoyu Island and its affiliated islands have always been part of China's territory, the spokesperson said, adding that the CCG conducted law enforcement activities in the waters under China's jurisdiction.
"We urge the Japanese side to immediately stop all illegal activities in these waters and ensure that similar incidents will not happen again," the spokesperson said.
