Intense bombardments reported in southern Gaza towns

Palestinians in Gaza reported intense bombardments near the southern towns of Khan Younis and Rafah, where Israel ordered civilians to seek refuge, the Associated Press reported on Tuesday.
At least 49 Palestinians were killed in an overnight Israeli strike that hit homes in the two towns, Gaza's Interior Ministry said on Tuesday.
According to Israeli media reports, rockets were fired toward Israel after an 11-hour respite.
