During the 10th anniversary of jointly building the Belt and Road Initiative, the New Media Center of CMG launched the micro-video "Belt and Road" Ancient and Modern Painting 'Meeting.' This video utilizes new media technologies such as virtual reality (VR) technology and animating mural technology to make the Silk Road Dunhuang mural Zhang Qian's Mission to the Western Regions "come alive" and uses six traditional Chinese colors such as azurite blue and malachite green in the mural as a bridge to make connections between the ancient and modern Silk Road. The artists used their brushes to "pick" the Chinese colors in the mural for VR painting and eventually created a three-dimensional version of the "blueprint" of today's economic and social development of the Belt and Road Initiative. The highlight of the program is the extensive use of new media technologies such as VR, virtual space painting, animating three-dimensional painting elements, and the use of the "meeting" of Silk Road murals and modern VR painting as creative inspiration, showing the great picture of the economic and social development of ancient civilizations that have lasted for thousands of years under the current Belt and Road Initiative.
