The year 2023 marks the 10th anniversary of the Belt and Road Initiative (BRI) and the principles of sincerity, real results, amity and good faith are cornerstones of China's Africa policy. The third Belt and Road Forum for International Cooperation is held in China's capital Beijing on October 17-18. China-Africa medical ties have contributed to a solid friendship. Since China sent its first medical team to Algeria six decades ago, more than 30,000 healthcare workers have been sent from China to 76 countries, most of them in Africa. CGTN interviewed Lamin Janneh, a Gambian medical student who is currently studying in China. He said the Chinese medical team in Gambia inspired him to become a doctor. Watch to see how the BRI and a Chinese medical team motivated this African student to pursue his dreams in the medical field.
