Scholz says Germany to support Egypt's mediation efforts between Israel, Hamas

German Chancellor Olaf Scholz said on Wednesday that Germany wants to support Egypt's efforts to de-escalate tensions following Hamas' attack on Israel during a meeting with Egyptian President Abdel Fattah el-Sisi in Cairo.
The Egyptian president was quoted as saying that the idea of displacing Palestinians into Sinai means pulling Egypt into war with Israel.
