At least 471 Palestinians were killed in a blast on the Al-Ahli Arabi Baptist Hospital in the Gaza Strip on Tuesday night, said the Gaza-based Health Ministry on Wednesday. Seventy percent of the victims were "children, women and the elderly," according to the ministry.
"The destruction is so intense; there are hundreds of dead under the rubble as we speak," said Mahmoud Basal, the spokesperson for the Palestinian Civil Defense, which provides emergency services.
CGTN Stringer interviewed him on the attack and recorded visuals of the ruins amid the disaster. "There are dead bodies scattered around here, it was catastrophic," he said.
