It's a custom for villagers in Huangling Village, Jiangxi Province to sundry (or "shaiqiu" in pinyin) a variety of crops on the building rooftops, creating a stunning contrast to the white- and-grey-colored Hui-style buildings.
Huangling is a typical mountain village with residential buildings arranged in a fan-shaped, terraced layout around a water source. It is surrounded by thousands of ancient trees and enveloped by vast terraced fields.
In the latest announcement by the United Nations World Tourism Organization (UNWTO), the village has earned a coveted spot on the "Best Tourism Villages" list for 2023.
