- Trucks loaded with humanitarian aid entered Gaza on Saturday through the Rafah crossing, the only border crossing between the besieged coastal enclave and Egypt.

- During a visit to the Egyptian side of the Rafah border crossing on Friday, UN Secretary-General Antonio Guterres appealed for the immediate delivery of humanitarian aid to Gaza. He stressed that it is a matter of life and death for millions of Gazans.

- It's not clear how long the crossing will remain open for foreign citizens to depart Gaza.

- Hamas on Friday released its first hostages, a pair of U.S. nationals, since carrying out a surprise attack on Israel on October 7.

- Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu said efforts continue to free more hostages though Israeli forces will "fight until victory" in Gaza.
