Trucks with humanitarian aid enter Gaza through Rafah border crossing
00:49

Twenty trucks loaded with humanitarian aid of food and medicine entered Gaza on Saturday through the Rafah crossing, the only border crossing between the besieged coastal enclave and Egypt, after a two-week blockade. The UN said at least 100 trucks daily are needed to cover urgent needs, and 20 trucks are not enough. The Hamas-run government media office in Gaza said it's important to establish a safe corridor that works around the clock to provide humanitarian aid. After the trucks passed, the crossing was closed again. At present, more than 200 trucks carrying a total of about 3,000 tonnes of aid have been parked near the Rafah crossing for several days.
