Israeli airstrikes continued to pound the Gaza Strip while Hamas kept firing rockets at Israel on Saturday, the 16th day of the ongoing conflict. According to the Palestinian health department in the Gaza Strip, 4,651 Palestinians have been killed in the Gaza Strip as of October 23, and more than 14,000 people have been injured. In Deir al-Balah, a city in central Gaza, many buildings were damaged after multiple Israeli airstrikes and explosions, while local residents continued to dig injured people out of the rubble with their bare hands.
