The presidential election in Argentina will go to a runoff, as no candidate secured more than 45 percent of the vote in the first round on Sunday, according to exit polls.
To win in the first round, a candidate has to obtain more than 45 percent of votes or over 40 percent with a more than 10-point lead over the second-place candidate.
A runoff will be held on November 18 as no candidate reaches this threshold.
