The China-Germany Automotive Congress has been held in southern China's Jiaxing City. The three-day event, which closes today, focuses on the collaborative innovation development of the automotive industry. Nearly 100 German automotive industry experts and business leaders participated in activities, including the main forum, the Auto Parts Expo, and visits to manufacturing plants. Initiated by the Chinese Ministry of Commerce, this event has been held in eight cities in China and Germany for six consecutive years.

PROF. FERDINAND DUDENHÖFFER Director German Automotive Research Center "From Germany to China perspective, we learnt from you the dynamics to technologies like batteries. So the cooperation is very important. Therefore the EU's current movement of adding tariffs is harming our cooperation. Besides, I think the good price of Chinese electric vehicles is not the outcome of direct subsidies, but actually China's efforts of nearly 30 years developing automotive industry. That's totally different things."

DR. HUANG KAISHENG Dean, Yangtze Delta Region Institute of Tsinghua University, Zhejiang "The advantages of the Yangtze River Delta in developing the automotive industry are its dynamism, combined industrial effects, and high efficiency. The capitals in this area are very active, and the government has issued a series of favorable and effective policies for the automotive industry. President Xi Jinping has emphasized the importance of technological innovation in his letter to our institution, with a primary focus on innovation incubation, application, and commercialization."
