Afghanistan's Herat province has been hit by several strong earthquakes since October 7, causing thousands of deaths and injuries, and a large number of houses have been destroyed. Immediately after the disaster, the Chinese government decided to provide emergency humanitarian assistance to the country. The first batch of relief supplies from China arrived in the quake-hit area on October 15.
