California State Route 1 runs along the state’s Pacific coastline and is one of the most captivating coastal routes in the United States. Stretching from Los Angeles to San Francisco, it offers unparalleled coastal views.

In contrast, China’s National Highway 318 (G318) stretches across the country, extending from Shanghai in the east to Lhasa in Xizang Autonomous Region in the west. The 5,476km-long route passes through more than twenty cities, with the most renowned and scenic section being the 2,142km stretch from Chengdu in Sichuan Province to Lhasa, often referred to as the “Sichuan-Xizang Highway.” This highway introduces travelers to China’s diverse culture and magnificent natural landscapes. It crosses the plateau area in western Sichuan, the spectacular Himalayan Mountain Range, and numerous enchanting lakes and rivers.
