Mozambique is a quintessential example of an African country benefiting from the Belt and Road Initiative (BRI). BRI investments include roads, bridges and railroads alongside more subtle investments in agriculture. Mozambican Prime Minister Adriano Afonso Maleiane says, "Roads and bridges are all part of the Belt and Road Initiative. They are not trying to sell the project to Mozambique because they are financing what we define as a priority." The BRI is also helping Mozambique revitalize its agricultural exports by framing it as an industry to generate disposable income while also feeding their families.
