China is willing to continue to enhance political mutual trust with Kyrgyzstan, strengthen the alignment of development strategies, seek more points of common interest for mutual achievement and common development, Chinese Premier Li Qiang said on Wednesday.

Li made the remarks during his meeting with Kyrgyz Prime Minister Akylbek Japarov in Bishkek, the capital of Kyrgyzstan.

China and Kyrgyzstan should speed up the construction of key projects such as the China-Kyrgyzstan-Uzbekistan railway as well as port cooperation to enhance interconnectivity, said Li.

The two countries should also expand cooperation in emerging industries such as advanced manufacturing, digital economy, new energy vehicles, smart agriculture and clean energy, so as to foster new growth drivers, he added.

The Chinese premier is in Kyrgyzstan for the 22nd Meeting of the Council of Heads of Government of the Shanghai Cooperation Organization (SCO) Member States, and an official visit to the Central Asian country.

China is ready to work with Kyrgyzstan under the SCO framework to inject more "certainty and positive energy" into the stable development of the region, and contribute to world peace, security and development, said Li.

On his part, Japarov said that Kyrgyzstan firmly supports China on issues involving China's core interests such as Taiwan, Xinjiang, Xizang and Hong Kong.

Kyrgyzstan supports the Global Security Initiative and other China-proposed major initiatives, and is willing to work with China to combat the "three forces" of terrorism, separatism and extremism as well as transnational organized crimes, he added.

The two leaders witnessed the signing of a number of documents on bilateral cooperation on digital economy, infrastructure and other fields, and jointly unveiled the Chinese Cultural Center in Bishkek after their talks.
