China's leading artificial intelligence and intelligent speech company iFLYTEK launched its latest big language model, SparkDesk 3.0 on Tuesday. Based on this domestic large model, AI has further achieved outstanding performances in medical, legal, education and other fields. Our reporter Liu Jiaxin has the latest.
The launch on Tuesday saw the strongest version of iFLYTEK's Big Model, with further improvements in multimodal, code generation and complex reasoning capabilities than before, and the ability to generate AI assistants that meet different personalities.
LIU JIAXIN Hefei "The latest version of iFLYTEK's new language model SparkDesk V3.0 aims to catch up with the world's most advanced of its kind and even to exceed it in understanding Chinese language. The model is becoming the very basis of all kinds of scenarios and applications that are showcased here in the World Voice Expo."
What about, meet with my avatar, Jiaxin Version 2.0?
"Wow, look how good she is."
And to meet an AI chat pal…
The key is interaction. But the problem is, it's better at Chinese.
LIU QINGFENG Chairman of iFLYTEK "Our language model must not only sense Chinese, we must learn from the world, we must be able to sense English. Because iFLYTEK has the best machine translation and multi-language technology in the world. We have a very unique advantage in learning global knowledge."
The basis of supporting large model computing power is the chip. iFLYTEK was blacklisted by the U.S. in 2019 to import cutting-edge chips. The company was sanctioned again in 2022. Another Chinese company subject to extreme U.S. chip sanctions is Huawei. Starting this year, the two companies formed a partnership.
LIU JIAXIN CGTN Reporter "The US has further tightened export controls on cutting-edge artificial intelligence chips to China. How seriously has iFlytek been affected? Is that why you decided to form a partnership with Huawei?"
LIU QINGFENG Chairman of iFLYTEK "We have been porting our entire R&D system to the domestic platform since we are under sanctions. That's why we were able to launch the home-grown SparkDesk so quickly. I think this is what we are forced to do, but it is also our comparative advantage. Our alliance with Huawei can really give the world a new choice."
Liu Qingfeng also said his company will cooperate with Huawei for a newer version that will be released in the first half of next year, aiming to benchmark GPT-4. He said that the domestic large model must face up to the gap with the world's top level in complex knowledge reasoning, fast learning, and ultra-long text processing.
