The opening ceremony of a folk festival for the Dong ethnic group was held in Jinping County, southwest China's Guizhou Province on Wednesday. People gathered together to take part in a series of celebrations, including a traditional costume show, an exhibition of embroidery works by Dong women, a folk song competition, a feast, and many other interesting activities that attracted people to soak up the festive atmosphere. As one of the grand celebrations of the Dong ethnic group, the 3-day-festival is held every year to promote friendship.
