Created by the ancient Chinese during the Neolithic era, painted pottery is an important artifact that reflects ancient wisdom. It appears in large numbers in the Yellow River Valley, where the most famous discovery was unearthed at Yangshao Village in Mianchi County, central China's Henan Province. The smooth lines and gorgeous patterns of the pottery were typical of Yangshao culture, which at the time were not only regarded as everyday items, but also as exquisite handicrafts.
