While Kylian Mbappe remains Paris Saint-Germain's highest earner and Randal Kolo Muani their headline summer acquisition, another relatively unknown player has astonishingly begun outshining his peers and stimulating praise through consistent showings of astute ability.

The 17-year-old Warren Zaire-Emery has rapidly discerned how to imprint his class upon proceedings with stunning displays seemingly incongruous with his tender age. The most recent instance arose on Wednesday night as the French prospect proved the driving force behind PSG's easy victory over seven-time European champions AC Milan in the Champions League.

Zaire-Emery engineered the opening goal in the 32nd minute when he secured possession in midfield, burst clear of Tijjani Reijnders, and picked out Mbappe, who advanced into the penalty area prior to beating Milan keeper Mike Maignan with an anchored shot.

Mbappe came close to a second in the 81st minute, the sweeping move releasing him unmarked, only for his shot across goal to be expertly tipped onto the post by Maignan. PSG's dominance was rewarded with another goal in the 89th minute as Zaire-Emery once more found space on the right, picking out Lee Kang-In who finished with calm assurance beyond Maignan.

Zaire-Emery, having proven the lubricant of victory throughout, not only became the French powerhouse's first player to earn 20 starts across all tournaments prior to his 18th year, but equally the youngest accumulator of three assists in the Champions League.

"Warren does everything well, defensively and in attack. He is aggressive, good technically, has good vision, can score and set up goals," said PSG coach Luis Enrique. "He is the perfect example for all young kids who want to be footballers and want to get to the highest level."

While it must be acknowledged that Zaire-Emery has further strides to fashion before hoping to match the influence presently wielded by 20-year-old Jude Bellingham of Real Madrid, the wunderkind possesses three formative seasons yet to advance nearer the English star's level.

Encouragingly, the indications to date have proven sufficient to reasonably conjure comparable likenesses. Zaire-Emery's aptitude to feature in diverse positions permits him to orchestrate transitions from rearguard duties, thrust forth through the center circle, or act as the fulcrum of forays in offense.

Through performances brimming with promise, Zaire-Emery has inscribed his name upon the annals of the club whilst affirming his place as a trailblazer both nationally and internationally. The versatility and vision he wields betoken a player surely destined for the heights of the beautiful game.
