China Media Group (CMG), the United Nations Office at Geneva and the Permanent Mission of China to UN at Geneva jointly hosted the launch ceremony of the special exhibition "Journey through Civilizations" in Geneva, Switzerland on Thursday.
Shen Haixiong, vice minister of the Publicity Department of the Communist Party of China (CPC) Central Committee and president of CMG, Francesco Pisano, chair of the Cultural Activities Committee at UN Office at Geneva (UNOG), Chen Xu, China's permanent representative and ambassador to the UNOG and other international organizations in Switzerland, together with representatives of more than 30 countries' permanent offices in Geneva attended the ceremony.
Shen said that the prosperity of civilization and the progress of mankind are inseparable from exchanges and mutual learning. "Journey through Civilizations" is a grand stage for the intersection of diverse ideas, multicultural exchanges, and the blending of diverse civilizations in the international community.

CMG is willing to join hands with like-minded friends to continue to work hard to promote cultural exchanges, cultural integration, and people-to-people bonds around the world, so as to make world civilizations more colorful, Shen added.
Diversity is the charm of human civilization and an important driving force for world peace and development, said Chen, adding that the United Nations has always advocated respecting and protecting cultural diversity and encouraging exchanges and dialogue among different civilizations.
It is expected that this special exhibition will enhance the understanding of Chinese civilization by countries around the world, build more consensus for promoting exchanges and mutual learning among civilizations, and contribute more to building a community with a shared future for mankind, Chen noted.
