Nine projects from 17 countries will be sent to China's Space Station in the next few years under an agreement between the China Manned Space Agency and the United Nations Office for Outer Space Affairs.
CGTN's Wu Lei spoke to Nicolas Produit from the University of Geneva's Astronomy Department. As part of a team working on POLAR-2, Produit said they had completed the prototype and aim to launch the detector around 2026.
The POLAR-2 project will investigate the nature of gamma-ray bursts in space.
