The Three-River Source National Park is located in the heart of the Qinghai-Xizang Plateau and features an average elevation of between 3,500 and 4,800 meters. It serves as the watershed for the headwaters of the Yangtze River, the Yellow River and the Lancang River and is known as the "Water Tower of China." The Three-Rivers Source area hosts and maintains the world's largest plateau wetland ecosystem and is home to the highest natural World Heritage Site in the world.

Within the park there are diverse topographical features, including glaciers, snow-capped mountains, high-altitude wetlands, deserts and alpine grasslands, alongside key national protected wildlife species such as snow leopards, Tibetan antelopes, white-lipped deer and wild yaks. The Three-Rivers Source National Park offers a range of outdoor activities for visitors, such as hiking, wildlife observing, photography, camping and mountaineering. The natural landscapes and cultural elements here attract tourists from all over the world.
