French President Emmanuel Macron said on Friday that France wants to evacuate its citizens from Gaza as soon as possible as conflict between Israel and Hamas continues into third week.
"We want to evacuate them as soon as possible. That is what we are organizing with both the Palestinian authorities and Egypt. And this is what several other European countries want to do in coordination with us," Macron said during a press conference after a two-day summit of European leaders in Brussels.
Macron also noted that several European countries are looking to build up a "humanitarian coalition" regarding Gaza and talks were being held with Cyprus and Greece over this.
