In a dramatic vote on October 3, the U.S. House ousted its Speaker Kevin McCarthy, leaving the chamber leaderless and in a state of turmoil. In an earlier interview with CGTN, Josep Mahoney from East China Normal University said the House has been failing for years under America's escalating polarization. He saw the McCarthy-led chamber as a reflection of that decline.
