As night falls, Buddha statues standing in the world heritage Longmen Grottoes are lit up and welcome visitors into an amazing ambience. The evening light endows the 1,500-year-old statues with an aura of mystery and spectacularity. This is part of Luoyang city's efforts to promote night tours around the famous heritage site.
Located in Luoyang, Henan Province, the Longmen Grottoes is considered a treasure trove of Northern Wei Dynasty (386-534) and Tang Dynasty (618-907) Buddhist art, featuring over 100,000 statues and images in more than 2,300 grottoes and niches.
