China's Ministry of Ecology and Environment has published a new report on the country's actions to address the impacts of climate change. China has pledged that it will strive to peak carbon dioxide emissions by 2030 and achieve carbon neutrality by 2060. The report states that China's carbon emissions continued to decrease in 2022. It says China's coal consumption dropped to 56-point-2 percent last year, while clean energy, including wind and solar power, accounted for over a quarter of China's total energy consumption. The ministry says China will work with the global community to combat climate change at next month's UN Climate Change Conference in the United Arab Emirates.

XIA YINGXIAN, Head, Department of Climate Change China's Ministry of Ecology and Environment "China will actively participate in the multilateral process of addressing climate change and looks forward to strengthening communication and deepening exchanges with all parties. Through broader global cooperation, all parties will work together to address global climate change."
