Earlier in May, CMG signed a MoU with IOC's Olympic Broadcasting Services (OBS) to become a main broadcaster for the Paris Olympic Games, responsible for producing international public signals for four major events: gymnastics, table tennis, badminton and sport climbing. CMG will deploy a production and broadcasting team of over 2,000 people and utilize "5G+4K/8K+AI" technology to deliver high-quality coverage to a global audience.
On Monday, CMG signed a strategic cooperation agreement with the Paris 2024 Olympic Organizing Committee.
Shen said that Friday marked the two-year anniversary of the launch of CMG's Olympic Channel, during which time it has become an important platform to promote Olympic culture. CMG is willing to expand cooperation with the IOC in broadcasting technology innovation and developing e-sports games as well as the market for a younger generation, and hopes that the partnership contributes to building a shared future for humanity.
Bach, who accompanied the visiting tour at the Olympic Museum before the signing, expressed gratitude for CMG's firm support for the IOC and its long-time contribution to the Olympics. The Hangzhou Asian Games that concluded earlier this month was remarkably impressive to the global audience, as the world was given a view of the spectacular opening ceremony and the Games through the high-quality broadcasting of CMG, he added.
Meanwhile, Shen and Bach unveiled CMG's newly re-designed commemorative stone in the Olympic Museum's Donors Wall, as the IOC paid tribute to organizations that have made their contributions to the Olympics through history.
Shen also held talks with Noel Curran, director general of the European Broadcasting Union, about cooperation in the coverage of the Paris Olympics, major international affairs, children's programs, technological innovation and other fields.
