Multiple explosions were seen in Gaza on October 28 after the Israeli military said that its ground forces would expand activities in the besieged Palestinian enclave.

The announcement came hours after Israel's defense minister said the country expected to launch a long and difficult ground invasion of the Gaza Strip. Shortly before the announcement, communication services in the territory were cut.
